Bring your cell phone to learn about natural and cultural history along the trails of CNC. When you see a "Nature Calls" sign, stop and dial the number it provides. There is no charge, but your cell phone provider may charge for minutes depending on your cell phone plan. This self-guided hike is available every day during daylight hours.

Fall Scavenger Hunt

Stop by the front desk inside the Rowe Visitor Center  on Saturday or Sunday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to pick up the fall scavenger hunt. Make your way from the Rowe Visitor Center to one of our historic buildings, around our best frog pond and back again, answering eight questions that will challenge both intellect and imagination. Turn in your completed scavenger hunt to the Front Desk Naturalist for a special prize.

CNC's Rare Treasure - Our Old-Growth Forest

Pawpaw Lecture

Representatives from Ohio Pawpaw Growers Association will share about the history and qualities of the pawpaw, North America’s largest native fruit. The talk will cover growing pawpaw trees, use of the tree in landscaping, harvesting of fruit, tips on cooking with pawpaws and an assortment of other pawpaw science and lore.
